1st Gartocharn Cubs
Background
The Pack is a well established group in Gartocharn and is just one stepping stone in the great Scouting Movement but we hope that it is one that provides each member with a taste of adventure, friendship and FUN!
Cubs takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm in Kilmaronock Millennium Hall (school term times only).
The evening usually begins with a pack get-together, some games followed by an organised activity. We often do work towards badges and aim to teach the Cubs a wide variety of skills and knowledge. We also sometimes take the cubs on outings (with parental consent) and try to get out of doors as much as possible during the Spring/Summer term.
There are also many badges that Cubs can do themselves, at home or during other activities/hobbies and we encourage them to do these by giving them the fantastic Power Pack when they join which clearly explains and lists all the various badges and challenges that can be achieved during their time as a Cub.
Subs
Subs are paid on a termly basis and are currently £20 per term (cash or cheque payable to 1st Gartocharn Cubs). Subs cover hall rental, badges, annual membership subscription and insurance, materials and sometimes outings.
Badges and Uniform
Cubs wear a dark green sweatshirt and ‘neckie’. Both can be purchased from the Glasgow Scout Shop, 21 Elmbank St, Glasgow Tel :0141 248 5941 and they are happy to post telephone orders. Each Cub is provided with a woggle.
